General Rules:
¨ No
cell phone or pager use.

food, drinks, or gum chewing allowed.
¨ Absolutely
no loud conversation is permitted.
¨ Conversation/discussions
must be kept down and not heard outside of the study rooms.
¨ Loud
music played through headphones is not allowed.
¨ Vandalizing
library property is prohibited.
Electronic Resources
and Computer Services:
¨ Computers
are to be used for educational research purposes only.
¨ Students
conduct their own searches.
¨ Written
search instructions are provided.
¨ No
alteration of the computer desktop is allowed.
¨ Printed
copies are charged electronically to students.
Microfiche/Film
Copiers:
¨ In-house
use only.
¨ 10
cents per page is charged to copy.
¨ Return
microfiche/film to trays provided on top of the microfiche cabinet.
Copy Room:
¨ 10
cents per page is charged to copy.
¨ Copyright
laws and the University policies and procedures govern copying
materials.
Telephone:
¨ An on-campus phone is located in the
copier room.
¨ The
telephone is for on-campus calls only and limited to 5 minutes per
person.
Fees
and Fines:
Until fees/fines are
paid, students will not be allowed to register for classes, take exams,
check out library materials, and transcripts will be withheld.
¨ Overdue
Books: 25 cents per day.
¨ Lost
Books: The price of the book plus a $25.00 processing fee
for replacement.
¨ Notice:
$1.00 fee per correspondence will be charged.
Books:
¨ A
total of 30 books may be checked out at any given time.
¨ Books
can be checked out for 4 weeks.
¨ One
renewal is allowed, if no hold has been placed.
¨ No
phone renewals allowed.
Periodical and
Reference Materials:
¨ In-house
use only.
¨ Return
all periodicals and reference materials to Circulation Desk after use.
Reserves:
¨ Located
at the Circulation Desk and Learning Lab.
¨ Printed
materials may be checked out for 3 hours.
¨ Media
reserves may be checked out for 2 hours.
¨ One
(1) renewal allowed if no hold has been placed.
¨ All
reserves are used in-house only.
Inter-Library Loan:
(ILL)
¨ Most
ILL (s) are free of charge. May take 1- 3 weeks to receive.
¨ Individual
borrower is responsible for any fee/fines assessed by the lending
library.
¨ For
assistance with ILL, you may call ext. 6732.
¨

Requests are made via the
JCSU Library Catalog.
Curriculum Lab:
¨ A
special collection for teacher preparation program is provided.
¨ Priority
is given to students majoring in education.
¨ Books
in the Curriculum Lab may be checked out for 4 weeks.
¨ Return
all books to the book truck provided in the lab.
Instructional Media
and Learning Lab:
Hours:
Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm
Friday 9am – 4pm
Provides JCSU students
with a facility to view audiovisual materials, broadcast programs within
the license guidelines, and produce audiovisual materials to enhance
students’ course work and classroom presentation.
Materials on reserve
may be viewed during the learning lab’s hours.
Modern Communication
Room (Multimedia Room) must be reserved 48 hours in advance and be used
in conjunction with course work or University related activities.

Archives:
Archival materials are used in the archives
research area only.
Access to the collection is by request from
9am to 2pm.
